4 Year Old Rotational Program

Our 4 year old program focuses on developing the skills, attitudes, and dispositions needed to successfully make the transition to primary school and beyond.

The 4-5 year old children are allocated into groups, with each core group attending 2 sessions a week for a total of 15 hours. There are a maximum of 30 children attending Preschool at any given time.

All groups are staffed at above regulations ratios with a university trained early childhood teacher and 2 co-educators for all sessions.

Excursions/Incursions/Special Occasions

Based on the children’s interests and teacher planned experiences, various incursions and excursions are arranged each year.

All core incursions and excursions are provided by the preschool at no cost to families.

Recognising and celebrating special occasions such as Birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas, Chinese New year and Diwali not only help the children develop a strong sense of who they are but also provides an opportunity to explore the diversity of culture, heritage, background and tradition in our community and build respect for different ways of being and doing.

Eligibility for the 4 Year Old Program

To be eligible to be offered a place in the four year old program, your child must turn four years of age on or before 30 April in the year of attendance. Provided the child meets this criteria, they can commence sessions at the start of the year. They do not have to wait until their fourth birthday.

Selection Criteria for the 4 Year Old Program

Eligible children (refer above) will be offered a place according to the Monash City Council selection criteria – see Allocations and Offers page for more information.

4 Year old Timetable 2026 / 2027

From 2025, we have been offering 15 hour sessions for our 4 year old programs (2 full days × 7.5 hours = 15 hours).

Since 2025, we have three groups: Green, Blue, and Yellow. Each child will choose one group:

• Green Group meets on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
• Blue Group meets on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
• Yellow Group meets on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
